All tv soaps have spoilers. This is mainly done to get the audience more involved in the soap. There are different techniques that TV soaps use for their spoilers; TV magazines, posters and mini clips on the internet are all example of spoilers. Spoilers are also made to create new viewers; it is also very effective as anyone is likely to pick up a magazine or bump into a poster.
Persuasiave language is often used on the internet; it makes the veiwer want to view the clip as its giving him/her the opportunity to see what is going to happen even before the soap opera begins.
Below is an example of persuasive language which has been used on a 'SPOILERS' website.
Soap Opera Spoilers:
This is the soap opera spoilers index. As usual, WARNING: Soaps Spoilers Ahead! ... soooooooooo, do not click on any of these links if you do not want to find soap opera spoilers containing soap opera scoops, soap opera rumors, soap spoilers, speculation or clues concerning upcoming soap opera episodes or seasons. Remember, soaps spoilers and scoops like all TV spoilers are meant to be fun, and some may turn out incorrect ... *wink*.

But on the other hand, TV soap producers do tend to profit from all these spoilers as it doesn't fully inform the viewers but instead gives them a gist of what will happen. This process is very successful as it encourages the viewers to watch it later on.On Home and Away's official website, it gives the viewer the chance to view approximately five (5) minutes of the soap.
And this also includes advertisement-it is very important for spoiler to contain more than just a clip of the soap. Because if it is done in this way, it also gives its sponsers the opportunity to sell its self.
Below is the text that is featured on the website.
