Who pushed Claire?An extreme and intense trailer leaving a HUGE amount of questions at the end I think what works really well is the whle idea of using flashbacks to suggest the characters that may have pushed claire. But due to there being so many characters hating her and Claire being a famously "hated person" in Hollyoaks village, it is more difficult for us to work out who actually pushes her.
The tension in the music builds up enormously, from the start we see her on the roof leaning over checking whos on the streets, we are then guided to her being punched by roxy, sparking off conflict and arguments straight away.
Claire is famously hated in Hollyoaks village due to her nature of being an evil "bitch". She ruins the lives of other characters in other ways, for example with Max, trying to get him killed and manipulating him into thinking that she is his perfect wife, until he finds out. I think its extremely important for people to understand that this character is someone not to be messed with. The whole point is that conveying this in a 0:41 second trailer, it triggers of many questions already. The main one, is she dead? Who pushed her?
The flashbacks demostrated different conflict methods, for example O.B pushing her to the wall and Max punching her in the pub. Roxanne punching her.
Although we know how bitchy this person Claire is, we still feel sorry for her when she is pushed over.
I think in our trailer we also need a considerate amount of cliffhangers and use music to create tension and a good atmosphere. Music does play a vital role in helping audiences become more in touch with the soap itself. Especially the soap titles, Eastenders titles for example, the whole theme tune is vital.

Yes i totally agree music does bring tension and it makes the audeince more interested, now what we need to think about is what sort of music are going to include in our trailer, i recently discovered that music with lyrics is more affective to the audience and also the lyrics take away the audeince's concentration
ReplyDeleteso if we are going to include music with lyrics we need to make sure that the lryics in the songs which we are going to include relate to what we are showing.
i was really getting in to the above trailer Yana, it sounds really good i think im going to take some time and watch it on Youtube...
